Schedule of events:

• Doors open at 11:00am for coffee and to allow time for everyone to drop off their entries.
• The food sampling begins at 12:00pm and closes at 2:00pm for vote counting.
• Doors close at 3:00pm.

If we’ve had some snow, the children are welcome to bring along a sled and enjoy the snow hill. We’ll have a fire pit, seating, and warm drinks for adults to keep warm outside.

Inside, you can sample and enjoy as many of the soup and chilli entries that you can manage and vote for your favourite in each category. Small prizes and bragging right will be awarded to those with the most votes!

We’d love to see many delicious entries! To enter your soup or chilli, simply email familydaycookoff@gmail.com and let us know that you’re coming and what you hope to bring!

Some time back in May, I think it was, those responsible for organizing the graduation event for the Guido Class of 2016 asked me provide the parents’ address to the students. The latest consistory meeting reminded me that the elders are chaffing at the bit in their eagerness to get into their annual home visits. Delightful; enthusiasm in the Lord’s service is contagious! So in the coming weeks each address in the congregation may expect an approach from their elders for a visit. Each of us, of course, are eager to receive them. That included getting yourself a job, marrying a girl, loving her and caring for her, and taking final responsibility for the children you received through her.
