Catechism
As living members of Christ’s church, the opportunity to hear from God through his Word is valued. We look for and pray for growth in the depth and breadth of our faith. We pray that for ourselves and the children that have been entrusted to us.
With that, we seek to teach also the youth of the church so that they would grow in faith and in the knowledge of God as we have been instructed in Deuteronomy 6:7 where it says, “You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”
When?
Catechism classes are held Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30, during the months of September through May.
What?
Catechism instruction seeks to teach the youth the following:
- The covenantal structure of the Scriptures and the way in which this undergirds our Reformed Confessions.
- The way that the Scripture addresses matters of Christian conduct and life in this world.
- The history of the church and the development of Reformed theology in response to the challenges the broader church has faced in maintaining faithfulness.
Pre-Confession Class
Those seeking to become communicant members of the congregation through public profession of faith will be taught a separate class, preparing them for this big step in their lives.
