If God is for us, who can be against us. We are more than conquerers! We share Christ’s victory and we are heirs with him. And so, nothing (including COVID-19 or unemployment) can stop Jesus Christ from loving his own!

This Sunday, March 22, has been proclaimed a “Day of Prayer”.  General Synod 2019 appointed two churches with the mandate to determine, in accordance with Art 54 of the Church Order, when there should be a Day of Prayer. 

For most readers of this Bit to Read, the honest answer to this question is, I suspect, that we’re Canadian Reformed because we were born into these churches.

On April 20, 1999 – Hitler’s birthday – Dylan Klebold (age 18) and Eric Harris (17) fired upon students in Columbine High School in Denver, killing 15 and injuring 24.

Minister-Elect

We heard the happy news last week: br Cody Swaving has accepted the call to serve as Minister of the Word of God in Smithville.  We thank the Lord for that answer!

Not that many decades ago it was understood across our nation that the man of the family was the family breadwinner.  Mother’s place was in the home, caring for the needs of the children.

It’s a well-known statistic true of today’s western culture: Christian men are notably less likely to be involved in worship than Christian women.  That holds true for church worship, family worship and personal worship.
